My cable went out during the last 10 minutes of Doctor Who. Yes, THAT just happened, then a commercial break. My rage cannot be properly calculated.

This is what I get for watching it legally.

You know, I said I was back before and it turns out I wasn't. So. I'd like to be back. I miss you all very much.

In brief: I finally let Glee snag me, I've been spending a ridiculous amount of time playing lead vocals on Rock Band 3 and (like always) I really, really enjoyed the Doctor Who Christmas special.

What's up with you?

I love that Covert Affairs has been indulging my fondness for Annie driving aggressively this season. That once it was driving her niece to the emergency room made it even better.

At one point in the most recent episode Annie said, "Run!" and I actually thought, "OMG, Annie's the Doctor! It totally explains her talent with languages! The shell bracelet is her chameleon arch!"

OK, I really can't take that much farther, but it was fun while it lasted.

I will probably post semi-coherent thoughts later, but for now: ALL THE FLAILING EVER.
phoenix64: Eleven in Venice smiling (dw eleven venice)
I've always got reasons to be happy about new Doctor Who. (Anything that might make me less than happy is denied for as long as possible.)

Not very spoilery but cut just the same )

I gave myself a present of The Brilliant Book of Doctor Who 2011 and it is SHINY. Literally, with a metallic red cover but also pretty and fun and very, very happy-making. \o/

Thank you very much for my Christmas present Mr. Moffat.

Eleventy!!!!!!

*hugs EVERYONE*

While this story has no affiliation or connection to [livejournal.com profile] bringthehappy you should go read it because it is FULL of HAPPY MAKING THINGS.

excerpted from The Adventure of the Plum-Colored Glow, the Potato, and the Really Good Chocolates (Book 3 in the Madcap Adventures of Amelia Pond, age 7, Time Traveler) by [livejournal.com profile] belmanoir

She never understood how the Wardrobe always had what she needed if she was the smallest Companion ever. She thought it was probably magic. (The Doctor said that the magic of today was the science of the future, but having spent as much time with the Doctor as she had, Amelia was pretty sure some things were just magic.)

Go. Read.

Is it just me or does Eleven seem to spend a lot of time on his back? Usually falling or getting knocked down, but not always. It seems to add to that sense of coltishness he has about him, but I also keep thinking about scritching his belly.

Hold me?

OK, now that I've dug myself out from under the small mountain of Kleenex that I created watching "The End of Time: Part Two" all I can say is this:

I thought I had enough time to prepare but I'm NOT READY. OH GOD, I'm going to miss him SO MUCH.

*reaches for another Kleenex*

OMG ad with Ten, reindeer and the TARDIS - they're using it on BBC America now, I hadn't seen it before last night. Massive glee!

The animals at Hanover, Germany's zoo got Christmas presents too this year and I am ded of teh cute. [link]

I hope everyone out there has a lovely day, no matter what they're doing.

OMG *flails*

Yeah, if you want intelligent commentary and criticism, look elsewhere. My primary reaction is what it pretty much always is: I'm just SO HAPPY to be there nothing else really matters.

Wheeeee!

Spoilery squeeing in the comments is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED.

I'm still kind of enamored with my idea of a retelling of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead with Doctor Who characters (title: "Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Demand An Explanation For This Bullshit"). R&G could be Donna & Martha (though I'm not settled on which one would be which) and Jack would be The Player. If I wanted to continue using Hamlet as the backpiece, then Rose would be Ophelia (not a dig on Rose, really) and Claudius & Gertrude could be *snicker* Harry and Lucy Saxon.

C'mon, please tell me someone else is as amused by this as I am!

For the three people on my Friend's list who would care who haven't seen [livejournal.com profile] fan_eunice's recommendation already: [livejournal.com profile] sweetestdrain has done an awesome Donna vid, Don't Lose Yourself. Spoilers through the end of s4. Go and watch and tell her how awesome it is. [livejournal.com profile] rustydog has written fics that have helped me grieve for some of the things that happened in the second series of Torchwood, but this vid helps me grieve for things that happened to Donna. Plus it shows how incredible Donna always was, with and without the Doctor.

Now I'm going to go watch it again.
