I had a little stomach-flip before I spotted the word 'TV'. But that is still tragic and horrible and if you need a shoulder to cry on in your time of bereavement, I am here.

Noooooooo! That is very distressing news. Maybe you could... make it to the sales at 5 a.m. on Friday morning? Eesh.

That's where the majority of my stress is coming from, really. Just having to replace a TV I can pretty much handle. It's the part where I can't deny that I could potentially save hundreds of dollars if I get it Friday, no matter how much the thought of those crowds freaks me out.

I've often said that there are times when it's worth the money not to have to deal with certain stores and crowds and such, but when there's this much money involved it almost feels morally wrong to not get those savings. I have to buy the TV anyway.

Oh dear, sorry for the scare.

Not only is the TV about the worst piece of electronics I could lose (after my computer, but I have a spare computer and a backup drive on this one), but I'm pretty much going to have to shop for the new one on Friday. Which is one of my versions of Hell.

We got let off from work early and I stayed an extra hour and a half because I knew coming home would mean having to think about it and I knew it would stress me out.

That is exactly the gamut of thoughts and feelings I went through when I was thinking about your situation. I usually say "it's never worth it" about that kind of crowds, yes, but there is a point where the financial imperative starts to balance the scale, and I hate that.

I wish you calm and luck!
