Bits & Pieces

Dino mummy!

I am hearing some not so good things about The Golden Compass from those who caught the preview or other special screenings. I'm not entirely surprised, but I'm probably going to go see it anyway for the bears and Daniel Craig sliding down a mountain.

I am cautiously optimistic from what I've seen of Tin Man so far. I do like the flying monkeys. The similarity of the Deschanel sisters continues to freak me out a little. And once again I find I prefer the G-rated version of a line used for a promo to the actual line.

It was mostly a few vocal inflections that did it for me, though.

I can't tell you how disappointed I was that there wasn't a hand floating in that bubbling jar. They'd already established that there was a character whose memories were stolen!

Oh yes, the voices are probably what get me the most. While their range really is different, it's still not that hard to imagine Zooey as a younger version of Emily. It's like a groove my brain keeps wanting to slip into.
