OK, I know Primeval is just fluff, but that didn't keep me from actually shrieking aloud when Abby said, "Girls don't talk comics."

Uh yes, quite a few of them do. Some of them are pretty cute, too.

More importantly: hey, Hodges and Haines, HOW COULD YOU HAVE ABBY SAY THAT?! How many comic-reading young girls did you just make feel a smidgen more insecure about being themselves by that comment? You idiots.

Even more importantly: that's hardly even a real question. Wolverine, of course.

Oh, and about that reveal concerning Stephen and Helen: I called that weeks ago, but the truth is part of me thought it was the fan goggles.

okay, haven't seen the show- is it the one scifi channel is showing commericals for?, but *damn* I've faced that "girls don't buy comics" myself many times back in the day when I still bought them... even from comic book store employees.

Still though, dumbass thing for a character on a SCIFI show to say!

Gah, I think my eyes rolled *out* of my head, rolled across the room, and jumped up and thwacked the TV when Abby said that. Not only was it incorrect, it even seemed out of character. A stereotypical girly-girl might not have a flat full of pet lizards and work as a biologist, either. I would think Abby would at least be open to girls liking comic books, even if it wasn't her thing particularly.

I think there was something specific somewhere in the middle of the season that made me think that, too - a reaction on Stephen's part, or some look Helen gave? Because I had the same idea in my head. I don't want to attribute too much subtlety to this show though. Heh.

OT, but about TV, I just noticed the Life season premiere is up free on Amazon On Demand right now. (I don't know if it works, haven't tried it yet, but cool!)
