I do hope you and [livejournal.com profile] phoenix64 don't mind me jumping in. But as opposed to other cop dramas, it does have a lot of balances and humor. Life is, more than the on going conspiracy, really about a story of second chances and redemption. Somehow, they manage to end episodes with a hopeful tone, that despite everything there's still something to look forward to.

The partnership dynamic also is fabulous, two people damaged by what they've been through yet struggling to go on and not be defined by their past. The creator of the show also made a specific directive about Life's cinematography. Opposed to other cop shows which are all about the dark filters, Life is filled with light, lots and lots of light. So, there are moments that would break your heart but at the end they always leave you feeling a little better.
