On 'mental illness', note that in my post I have referred to depression as both a 'medical condition' (in my case a chronic one) and 'madness'. I think as long as we keep talking about it there are no sacred cows and we should look at how the language we use affects our perceptions.

Submitted for consideration: yesterday I dragged my big sketch pads and sketch pad board out of the back of a closet, which is where they've spent the better part of 22 years.
