In which I noodle a BIT more about the Primeval series 5 finale
I swear I kept looking at Phillip and mentally screaming, "You have to save Connor, Connor can fix this!" (I should mention that while there were lots of interesting facial expressions and hand gestures I didn't make any actual noises until the end. I think.)
I can't help but notice that series 5 began and ended with Matt rescuing Connor. Honestly? I'm kind of OK with Connor being the resident Damsel in Distress. Especially when Abby is sometimes one of the rescuers. But I also like the way it shows Matt's commitment to taking care of his team.
Oh Connor. Cutter is still proud of you, I swear it.
OK, Jess in the command room when it was going dark and you could hear everything shutting down? Wonderfully creepy.
"Now I've seen it all: mobile phone reception when you really need it." HA!
How many people thought Abby was telling Connor that she was pregnant?
Naturally Emily manages to basically rescue herself just fine.
OK, so I kind of like that Phillip ultimately ends up as someone who really did believe he was doing good and not another scenery chewing villain. Unfortunately it's a little inconsistent with some of his previous behavior but I'm totally willing to handwave that. Speaking of ...
As far as I'm concerned there was bit at the beginning of that scene where Jess or Lester called Becker back and told him about the future predators being in the ARC, and that scene accidentally got cut. It could have happened just like that!
More gun-toting Lester, whee! God bless Jess for taking the shoes with her. No no no no no you are not allowed to kill Lester. NOT ALLOWED.
Go Abby, saving the day with science!
I swear, Monday night I was lying in bed wondering what would happen to Matt if everything got fixed and therefore changed the future. I was really worried!
ZOMG SHOW THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT KISS.
Honestly, part of me just hearted Becker so much for being there for Emily when she was in such distress but there was another part of me going, "Get your hands off of Matt's girl!"
When Connor glanced behind himself after Abby proposed do you think he was thinking, "OMG is anyone else seeing this?"
So a train left King's Cross and disappeared into thin air... maybe it wasn't an anomaly, maybe it was the train to Hogwart's.
I KNEW it. I knew there was something I was seeing on Matt's face, that he was a little surprised that he didn't disappear with the altered timeline, and Matt would certainly be concerned about the effects of messing with the natural order of things. And now his fears that something about that is terribly wrong have been confirmed.
Unlike some people I love a good cliffhanger even when this might be the end and it might never be resolved. Yes, I'm a bit strange that way; some times I think the mystery itself is more interesting than any answer.
If this is the end, thank you show. I enjoyed all of it, I really did.
