A return to your regularly scheuled fannish glee
Is anyone else besides me watching Merlin on SyFy? Does anyone else want to participate in some delayed squee with me? Because HOW AWESOME was "Eye of the Phoenix"?
I haven't enjoyed an episode of Merlin this much in a while, mostly because evil!Morgana annoys me. I can't help it, she seems more like just a brat than someone with understandable resentment. I have kind of enjoyed her interactions with Merlin but simply as a character she's not really working for me right now. Also I'm still having difficulty with Arthur and Gwen's chemistry. But none of that mattered this time because this episode was Stuffed Full of Nifty Things.
OK, first of all I was highly amused at Arthur's Completely Secular Vigil. Nope, nothing religious going on here folks.
As tolerant as I am of Merlin's happy pillage of traditional Arthurian lore I was a little worried about what they'd do with the Fisher King but I really don't have any complaints.
OK, now for the glee: OMG Merlin went to Gwaine for help! And Gawaine helps because he wants to help MERLIN and could give sweet f***-all about Arthur. I LOVE GWAINE SO MUCH RIGHT NOW. And what are we up to now, OT4 or OT5?
And there were gratuitous strappy boot shots (I have a total strappy boot fetish)! And it turned out to be Merlin's quest! Irritated Arthur is amusing. And Gwen knows that Morgana is Up To No Good! And she went to Gaius! And OMG I LOVE GWAINE SO MUCH RIGHT NOW!
GLEE.
